Hello Followers,
As some of you might be aware today is the 15th Anniversary of the death of Christopher Wallace. Who is commonly known as; Biggie Smalls, Notorious B.I.G, and some people argue the greatest rapper ever. All of you are probably aware of the Biggie Smalls story, and I think it examplifies the American “Rags to Riches” story very well. I’m not going to go to in depth regarding his biography. If you don’t know the story you can always find out.
What I am here to talk about if the fashionable life of Biggie Smalls. As you know Biggie rose to fame during the mid 90’s when fashion was taking a more of a relaxed turn. Street styles were being adopted by the world over, and as gangster rappers were coming to prominence they were becoming the trailblazers in fashion. The adopted the ghetto fabulous lifestyle, and were waring everything and anything designer. the furs were plush, the shirts were versace, and the gold was Gilded.
Now some could say that Biggie was the father of this Ghetto Fabulous movement. After he was dicovered by Puff Daddy, a former A&R, and then went on with Puff Daddy when he formed Bad Boy Records Puff Daddy knew how important the image of the artist was, so I think he worked with not only Biggie, but his other artist to help them craft their rap persona. Biggie, and others were the musical mobsters. They would go in the booth murder a track, and the people would love it. They respected them, and it was out of fear and admiration. Mind you while they were famous the infamous East Coast, West Coat battle was going on.
With all that said here are a few photos of the fashions, Biggie Smalls was seen in during his life in the spotlight.
